ROOF is a group initiated by Luc Ex and Tom Cora in 1996.
The group was formed out of a mutual enthusiasm for various prior collaborations.
ROOF not only reconstellates the tight parts of some loose ends, but quite immediately grabs its own trajectory as a band where a highly articulate improvisational spirit serves tightly rehearsed compositions. Its members’ widely different backgrounds belie a pointed empathy as often at the service of the subversion of expectations as in the affirmation and joy of collective music-making.
